The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) and the Global Industrial and Social Progress Research Institute (GISPRI) have announced the return of the Expo Innovation Award at Expo 2027 Belgrade.
The competition will offer two prizes of €50,000 each for innovations presented at the exhibition, which takes place in Serbia from 15 May to 15 August 2027.
Two Award Categories
The Technological Innovation Award will recognise new technologies, systems and projects connected to the Expo’s theme, “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All”.
The Social Innovation Award will focus on practical solutions to social challenges. Projects will be assessed for their potential to benefit communities and produce lasting results beyond the exhibition.
Individuals, private companies, non-governmental organisations and other non-governmental entities may qualify if their innovations are presented or demonstrated at Expo 2027. Government bodies are not eligible.
Winners to Be Recognised in Belgrade
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place towards the end of Expo 2027 Belgrade.
