Turkmenistan has formally authorised the construction of its national pavilion for EXPO 2027 Belgrade, taking another step towards its participation in the international exhibition scheduled to take place in Serbia from May 15 to August 15, 2027.
The decision was formalised through a presidential resolution announced in August 2026. The Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan has been given responsibility for the pavilion’s construction, installation and other preparations required for the country’s participation.
A National Pavilion Focused on Culture and Development
Turkmenistan plans to present its national exhibition under the theme “Turkmenistan – Melody of Peace, Land of Health.”
The concept is intended to highlight the country’s cultural heritage, economic development and national identity while connecting with the wider EXPO 2027 programme.
Preparations had already been reported earlier in 2026. In March, Turkmen government officials announced that construction and installation activities were underway, alongside work on exhibition design and equipment.
The subsequent presidential resolution established formal authorisation for the ministry to carry out the necessary work.
Strengthening International Cooperation
Beyond presenting national achievements, Turkmenistan views its participation in EXPO 2027 as an opportunity to develop economic and international partnerships.
National pavilions provide participating countries with a platform to introduce their industries, cultural traditions and development priorities to visitors, businesses and international organisations.
For Turkmenistan, the Belgrade exhibition will offer an opportunity to present its national identity to an international audience and establish new contacts.
EXPO 2027 to Bring the World to Belgrade
EXPO 2027 Belgrade will be held under the theme “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All.”
The 93-day event will explore how sport, music, creativity and play can encourage international dialogue and contribute to social development.
Scheduled for May 15 to August 15, 2027, the exhibition will be the first Specialised Expo hosted in the Western Balkans.
With preparations continuing across participating countries, Turkmenistan’s national pavilion forms part of the international exhibition programme taking shape ahead of the event in Serbia.
