Two December events in Belgrade will look at the buildings the events industry works in: one from the investor's side, the other from the architect's. The Belgrade Property Forum on 8 December brings developers, valuers and lenders to the Hilton for a morning of market talk. Six days later, the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Belgrade hosts Good Urban Life 2026, a free scientific conference on redesign and adaptive reuse.
Belgrade Property Forum: offices, retail and hotels after 2027
The forum, organised by the regional real estate platform Property Forum, runs from 09:00 to 14:00 at Hilton Belgrade. Earlier editions ran under the Balkans Property Forum name; last year's ninth edition took place in Belgrade on 9 December 2025.
The published agenda has two sections. The first opens with a presentation on Serbia's economic outlook for 2027 and a panel on investment and financing. The second is the more interesting one for hospitality and venue people: a panel titled "Belgrade's Next Chapter: Office, Retail & Hotels Beyond Expo 2027", with Petar Lojanica (Lidl Srbija) and Živorad Vasić (Kadena Properties) among the confirmed speakers. A closing panel on property valuation brings in speakers from BRIMA Real Estate, BDO Serbia, Data Investment, JLL and CBS International, and Hubert Abt of workcloud24 talks about how operating performance affects liquidity.
Advance visitor passes cost 195 EUR per person. The format is compact, ending with a networking lunch, so it suits people who want to meet investors rather than sit through a full-day programme.
Good Urban Life 2026: what to do with existing buildings
Good Urban Life 2026: Redesign. Reuse (Dobar urbani život 2026) is the second national scientific conference of its kind, with international participation. It takes place on 14 December at the Faculty of Architecture, Bulevar kralja Aleksandra 73/2, with support from Serbia's Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation.
The 14 thematic areas range from adaptive reuse of historic buildings and circular economy in architecture to public space redesign, climate-responsive retrofits, new materials and digital tools. Attendance is free. Researchers and professionals can still submit abstracts by email until 1 December; acceptance notices go out on 5 December, and accepted papers will be published in proceedings with an ISBN and DOI. Presentations are in Serbian, with English allowed for international speakers.
Why it matters for the events trade
Venue owners and agencies spend a lot of time converting space that was never designed for events: industrial halls, old cinemas, shopfronts, hotel ballrooms. The reuse conference speaks directly to that work. The property forum, meanwhile, is one of the few places where hotel and office investors say in public what they expect from Belgrade once the Expo crowds have gone, which matters for anyone planning new meeting space or long-term leases.
