Every stand, stage and truss that reaches a Serbian fair hall arrives on a truck, and the rules for those trucks are about to change. The 6th Regional Transport Congress (VI Regionalni transportni kongres), which meets on Zlatibor on 19 and 20 November, puts several of those changes on the table, starting with electronic consignment notes due in 2027.
Who organises it and who it is for
The congress is organised by TRANSPORTLOG, the Association of Transport and Logistics Managers, with Intico d.o.o. as executive organiser. It takes place at Hotel Mona Plaza on Zlatibor. Registration opens the evening before, on 18 November from 18:00 to 20:00, and continues on the morning of 19 November.
The organisers say the aim is to bring together transport service providers, their customers and companies that run their own fleets. The target audience is broad: fleet, logistics and procurement managers, vehicle, tyre, fuel and parts distributors, service centres, insurers, public companies and local governments. Dunav is the general sponsor, with Hofmann and Balkanprogres as gold and bronze sponsors.
What is on the programme
The two-day programme mixes practical talks with three panels:
- Electronic consignment notes in 2027, with a lecture by Aserta and a panel on the new law with implementers and wholesalers;
- CMR insurance in practice and e-mobility insurance, presented by Dunav osiguranje;
- protecting EV fleets and logistics sites from lithium-ion battery fires (Vatrex Rescue), plus battery repair with a live demonstration;
- smart tachographs, safety of electric and hybrid vehicles, and new rules for electric two-wheelers, with speakers from the Road Safety Agency;
- AI-supported order picking in warehouses (DEKRA) and the end of recycling incentives in waste management;
- research talks from Belgrade's Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering, including one on women truck drivers;
- a closing panel on autonomous driving, between regulation and reality.
Why event and exhibition firms should care
Transport is a large, often hidden cost for stand builders, AV rental companies and touring productions. Three topics are directly relevant:
- E-waybills. Any company that moves its own stand elements or equipment between venues will need to adapt its paperwork and software once electronic consignment notes become mandatory. Details of the 2027 timetable are best checked at the congress or with the organiser.
- Battery fire risk. Venues and warehouses increasingly store electric forklifts, scissor lifts and battery packs for LED walls and lighting. The session on lithium-ion fire protection is worth attending for venue operators and logistics managers.
- A MICE example. The congress is also a good case study for Zlatibor itself: a two-day professional event in a mountain resort hotel, with sponsors, panels and live demos. Organisers looking for venues outside Belgrade can see how it works in practice.
Participation costs 29,000 dinars + VAT for participants from Serbia and €260 for participants from abroad, according to the event listing on dolazim.rs, with discounted accommodation at the hotel. The organiser's site does not list exhibition or sponsorship packages.
