Workplace Safety Conference in Belgrade on 27 November

Belgrade's events industry spends most of its time thinking about how a stand looks. This winter, how it is built may matter just as much. Fair halls are fully booked through December, Expo 2027 pavilions are about to be handed over for fit-out, and crews will be working at height, with power tools and under time pressure on several sites at once. A one-day conference later this month is aimed squarely at the people responsible for keeping that work legal and safe.

What the BZR conference covers

The 8th annual conference "Bezbednost i zdravlje na radu 2026" (Occupational Safety and Health 2026) is organised by the editorial team of BZR Portal, published by Acta Media. The organiser's page gives the date as 27 November 2026 and the venue as Hotel Moskva in central Belgrade. The full programme has not yet been published.

The announced topics include:

  • current challenges in applying OSH regulations;
  • risk assessment and the documentation employers must keep;
  • records of training, medical checks, workplace injuries and personal protective equipment;
  • how OSH is organised at employers and in licensed agencies;
  • digitalisation of OSH processes;
  • integrated management of OSH, fire protection and environmental protection.

The draft schedule also lists sessions on changes to the OSH law and bylaws, inspections after workplace injuries, safety on construction sites, ergonomics, work permits, fire protection and occupational medicine, with a round table and a rescue-drill workshop. Note that the same page also shows older April dates in its schedule section, so the final running order may differ; check with the organiser before booking.

Why it matters for stand builders and event crews

Stand construction and pavilion fit-out sit close to construction work: scaffolding, rigging, electrical installations and heavy lifting, often at night and with subcontracted labour. Venue operators and large clients increasingly ask contractors for risk assessments, training records and proof of PPE before they let a crew in. The session on construction sites and the one on records of training and injuries are the most directly useful for exhibition contractors.

There is also a practical angle for venue owners and event agencies. When something goes wrong on a build-up day, the questions an inspector asks are about documentation and responsibility. The integrated approach to OSH, fire protection and environmental protection is close to what large events now require in their safety plans.
